# SourcePatch V2 — real SerpApi demonstration

100 seconds. Actual browser UI recording on October 8, 2026, cropped to application content. Deepgram Aura 2 Thalia synthetic narration and summary captions were added after capture. No application frames or results were recreated. The initial navigation error is trimmed before the recording begins; the live review itself is continuous. The input typo is authored. The SerpApi and page requests are real. Codex operated approval after reviewing the alternative ETH Zürich page.

**0–14 seconds:** SourcePatch repairs broken Markdown citations without rewriting the guide. This recording uses real SerpApi and HTTP responses. The input URL typo is deliberately authored.

**14–25 seconds:** The original returns four oh four. Publisher and cross domain searches discover candidates through SerpApi. Search ranking is only a lead. Nothing is approved automatically.

**25–42 seconds:** We select an ETH Zurich teaching page. Approval is disabled until separate page inspection finds related content. The actual response is two hundred, with bounded excerpts and a hash.

**42–60 seconds:** After reviewing its purpose and publisher, the operator approves this alternative source and previews the patch. Both repeated URL destinations change. The document prose remains intact.

**60–82 seconds:** The page explains Python filesystem paths and Path objects. This is an alternative educational source, not the recovered Python reference manual. Lexical overlap does not prove equivalent meaning.

**82–100 seconds:** The full provenance and earlier failed attempts are published. Failed retrieval blocks approval; explicit retries are capped and retain history. Run the local workbench with your own public document. This demonstration was operated by Codex.

For a fresh run, check existing SerpApi allowance, run `python3 -m sourcepatch --mode live --max-searches 4`, enter the existing key at the hidden prompt and open port 8765. Inspect the public sample, request cross-domain discovery explicitly and review actual returned content. Results may vary. Never replace an absent candidate with an authored result.
